Dear Harvard College Students,

We hope that you have all had a restful and restorative Spring recess!

We are writing today to let you know that this year’s Yardfest event will be held on Sunday, April 7th at 3:30pm. In addition, there are some important details which are outlined below, and we encourage you to familiarize yourself with them.

The details below are intended to ensure a safe and fun community event for all Harvard College students. Although they reflect the recommendations of the Review Committee following the 2018 Yardfest, the changes we are announcing today are also established best-practices for large-scale events on college campuses. They are as follows:

  • Throughout the festivities, water will be available within the Yard to ensure that you are staying hydrated. Dinner will be served in the Yard beginning at 4:30, so please be sure that you are getting enough to eat. Restrooms will also be available for use within the Yard.
  • Only students possessing a valid Harvard College ID will be granted entrance to Yardfest. (Guest tickets will not be available.)
  • There will be no re-entry allowed into the concert venue. Once you have swiped your Harvard College ID to be allowed into the space, you will not be allowed to enter a second time if you choose to leave before the event concludes.

In addition, neighborhood block parties will begin at 1:30 this year, and your HoCo’s will be sending more information out about those events soon.

Lastly, we hope you will join us for a fantastic night of music this Wednesday, March 27th at 7:00pm in Sanders Theatre for the annual Battle for Yardfest. The battle will feature 10 terrific bands, a comedian host, and we will also reveal the Yardfest headliner. We hope you can be there!

Once again, we encourage you to please familiarize yourself with the information in this e-mail. In short, we want you to be smart, be safe and HAVE FUN at this year’s Yardfest! Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely,

Harvard College Student Engagement
