ICA Teens: Moments in Motion — Photography Exhibition
6 Appian Way
Fri., Jan. 11, 2019, 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Moments in Motion refers to the semester-long exploration of the places and the people students interact with in their everyday lives. Through discussions, writing exercises, and critiques, the teens explored how to best capture their images to select their final pieces. Our teens experimented with composition, lighting, color saturation, and advanced camera operations that bring focus to the environment and the subject in their photography.
Teen arts education is central to the ICA, and the Digital Photography program is just one of many teen arts programs offered at the museum. The ICA’s award-winning teen program has grown exponentially in the past decade, now serving approximately 7,000 area youths annually. We believe that robust arts education — including learning by doing — is critical to building future artists, audiences, and engaged citizens, and we aim especially to create a more equitable education for urban youths.
