Biography
Hey everybody! My name is Harpreet, and I’m a senior from Mississippi living in Lowell House (best House!). I’m pursuing a concentration in Computer Science with a secondary in Government. Outside of class, I serve on the board of Harvard Model Congress, I am a peer advisor for first-year students, and I am a member of the J.F.K. Junior Forum Committee within the Institute of Politics. I also served as the President of Harvard Primus (Harvard’s first-generation and low-income student union) and continue to be involved in the community. Through these organizations and roles, I’ve become a part of such amazing communities and met so many incredible people that help to make Harvard feel like my home away from home. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball with friends, exploring Cambridge and Boston, and watching Netflix. I know that applying to college as a first-generation student can be a difficult and daunting process. Looking back on my journey, I remember everyone who supported me along the way, and I hope to do the same for you. I hope you find being a first-generation student a source of strength and pride, and I wish you the best of luck. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me and the Harvard First Generation Program if you have any questions or concerns!
