What was your professional path after college?
At commencement, I commissioned as an Air Force intelligence officer and have since served all over the country and overseas.
What fills your time now? Professionally and otherwise?
I love exploring the mountains of Alaska with my husband and our dog. In the summer of 2024, I’ll begin a master’s program at the Air Force’s Air Command and Staff College in Alabama.
How did your academic experience at Harvard guide you in your post-grad pursuits?
Harvard prepared me to approach every scenario - professional, social, and academic - with an open mind. There is always something to learn!
What was a favorite class you took and why?
Plants and Human Affairs. I enjoyed the practical application of plant biology to our everyday lives. Also the field trips to a brewery and chocolate factory were a bonus!
Did you have any research/internship opportunities and/or professor/mentor relationships that were influential?
As an ROTC cadet, I had the unique opportunity to learn from senior officers attending Harvard fellowships. Since joining the military as an officer, I’ve been privileged to work with and for some of them.
What were you involved in extracurricularly?
Varsity heavyweight rowing and varsity soccer; ROTC at MIT
How did your extracurricular activities impact your Harvard experience? And have they had an impact on your post-grad life?
My Harvard teammates truly became my best friends for life. I have an incredible network of strong women in so many different careers, locations, and walks of life. I also benefited from an amazing coaching staff with the rowing team.
What is a favorite memory of Harvard House life?
The Eliot House courtyard in the spring is the most magical place. I named my rescue dog Eliot in honor of the best House. Floreat Domus!
What is your favorite Harvard tradition and why?
Housing Day and the housing system. I loved the camaraderie in my house and the unique traditions.
What advice do you have for someone applying to college?
Try everything. There are so many classes, clubs, opportunities that you may not have even heard of before.
