What was your professional path after college? I took a year off, then went to Harvard Medical School. Did my residency at UCSF for pediatrics, met my husband as a resident, and have lived here since.
What fills your time now? Professionally and otherwise? Working as a primary care pediatrician at an underserved clinic in Marion County (FQHC), spending time with my husband and two children, ages 10 & 12, and lots of running in the Golden Gate Park.
How did your academic experience at Harvard guide you in your post-grad pursuits? I was inspired by the work of the late Paul Edward Farmer from HMS, in social anthropology and medicine.
What was a favorite class you took and why? There were so many, but I remember "Shop to you drop" was super fun!
What were you involved in extracurricularly? A photographer for The Harvard Crimson.
How did your extracurricular activities impact your Harvard experience? And have they had an impact on your post-grad life? I continue to be inspired by my colleagues from the Crimson. Many of them have become life-long friends. What is a favorite memory of Harvard House life?
What is your favorite Harvard tradition and why? Having leisurely meals in the dining halls with friends.What advice do you have for someone applying to college?
