Spending money near Harvard does not have to be expensive; student discounts make that possible!
Harvard students love to explore places in Harvard Square and near Harvard's campus, as a break from their studies. Some of these places fortunately have student discounts that sometimes are not publicized. In this blog, I'll be highlighting some of my favorite discounts available to Harvard students.
Luxor Cafe
Luxor Cafe is a family-owned cafe in Harvard Square on Mt. Auburn Street. This cafe offers 10% off to students with their student ID's. They offer a variety of products including coffee, matcha, pastries, and sandwiches. Luxor Cafe also runs a special where people can pay $25 for unlimited drinks and 1 breakfast or lunch meal throughout the hours that they are open. Students can compound this offer with the student dicount for 2 good deals. This cafe also has great ambience so I would especially recommend using the discount and studying/doing work there!
Saloniki Greek
Saloniki Greek is a mediterranean restaurant inside of the Smith Campus Center. Their menu features greek bowls and pitas. Students with a valid ID can redeem free fries with the purchase of any meal!
Van Leeuwen
Van Leeuwen is an ice cream shop on Brattle St. with dairy and vegan ice cream options, along with baked goods and milkshakes. They offer a 15% discount on purchases when a student presents their ID when checking out.

The Coop
The Coop is a book and merch store in the middle of Harvard Square. They have lots of different items including Harvard branded merch and collaborations with student brands. Harvard students can receive a 15% discount on purchases with their ID present. Also, Harvard students can redeem a membership with The Coop (for $1 every year) and receive an additional 10% discount on purchases.

The Boiling Crab
The Boiling Crab is a seafood restaurant near Harvard Square that features crab, shrimp, mussels, and clams on their menu. This restaurant offers student combo discounts for only $10-11! Each of the combos has an 1 of 3 shrimp entree options, fries (that can be flavored with any of their seasonings), and a drink. I have found that this deal is not as known by many students, and is great when students want to get a taste of food that is not frequently offered in the dining halls.
These student discounts allow Harvard students to explore places near campus without breaking the bank!
