Article
Dear Harvard College Parents and Families,
Earlier today I wrote to your student with some important and difficult news. Due to the ongoing global health concerns posed by novel coronavirus (COVID-19), we are announcing today that Harvard College students will be required to move out of their Houses and First-Year Dorms as soon as possible, no later than Sunday, March 15 at 5:00pm. Courses will continue to be taught remotely for the remainder of the semester. The letter I sent to your student detailing this information is included below.
I know that you have entrusted us with the health and well-being of your student, and this trust is what has guided us in making this difficult but necessary decision. As the father of three children, I also understand that absorbing this news will be both difficult and unexpected for both you and your student. Please know that we will do our best to return to normal operations as soon as possible.
Right now, we are doing everything we can to make the process of moving out work smoothly for our students. Additional information can be found here.
Thank you in advance for your help and your understanding.
Warmly,
Rakesh Khurana
Danoff Dean of Harvard College
