Dear Harvard College Students,

I write to invite you to a memorial service that will be held on campus for Haley Rue, '17, in celebration of her life. As you may know, Haley passed away suddenly this summer, the result of an accident while traveling in Germany. She had an adventurous spirit and was incredibly kind, and her passing was a great shock to those who knew her and all of us in the College community.

The service will start at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, in Memorial Church. The service will include reflections on Haley's life in the form of music, readings, a video, words from some of those who knew her, and a candle-lighting ceremony. We will then move to Annenberg Dining Hall, where Haley spent a great deal of time, for a reception from 8 to 9 p.m., where there will be opportunities to spend time together and with her family, who will be in attendance. All are welcome.

Anyone who would like is invited to contribute a remembrance to share with Haley's family, such as a poem, written memory about Haley, or a quote. There will be a box at Memorial Church to put these in when you arrive, and it will be given to the family at the end of the evening. There will also be an opportunity at the reception at Annenberg to write a note to contribute for anyone who would like to do so at that time.

The doors of the Memorial Church will open at 6:30 p.m. for anyone who would like to arrive early. We look forward to gathering together next Thursday, to remember Haley together.

Warmly,
Dean Khurana
