Thankful for You

Dear Harvard College Students,

I hope you enjoyed the weekend festivities and that you are looking forward to a well-deserved break later this week. At this time of year, I try to reflect on what is right in the world and to focus on what I am thankful for. As we head into the Thanksgiving weekend, I want to share with you how grateful I am to be a part of this remarkable community.

On Saturday, as I saw so many of you celebrating alongside our friends from Yale and enjoying each other’s company, I was reminded that what makes this place so special is the light that emits from each one of you. I am thankful for the potential you represent for creating a better and more just world.

Over the next few days, I hope you will be able to take a moment to pause and reflect on what you are thankful for—and to share your gratitude with the people you love. I wish you all a restful and restorative break, and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

Semper Veritas,
