Biography

¡Hola! My name is Karen! I am the oldest daughter of two hardworking Nicaraguan immigrants. I am a first-generation low-income Latina student who took a gap year before joining the Harvard community this fall. On campus, I am part of the Institute of Politics, Harvard’s Latina Empowerment & Leadership Conference, the Harvard Global Educational Movement and serve on the first-year council of public service. When not studying or participating in extracurriculars, you can find me dancing in my room to reggaeton or bachata. I enjoy traveling and experiencing new cultures. Harvard is an amazing place, so enjoy the process of figuring out if it is the right home for you. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions. My hope is I can be part of your support system during the application process and show you all the wonderful opportunities Harvard has to offer!
