• What are the key responsibilities with this role?

  • Work collaboratively with the Harvard College Communications team to coordinate content
  • Maintain regular communication with your College Communications liaison
  • Ensure that social media strategy supports the overall College brand, goals, and objectives
  • Develop creative and innovative ideas for social campaigns and ways for our platforms to generate buzz, build community, etc.
  • Assist in the growth of Colleges’ social media presence through likes, comments and shares

• What does this role require?

  • In conjunction with other student interns and street team members, maintain a consistent social presence on both social media platforms
  • Create a minimum on one piece of content every two weeks for the communications office**
  • Must be a degree-seeking student
  • Attend Harvard College Street Team training
  • Attend a mandatory one-hour meeting, every month to discuss upcoming events and brainstorm ideas for promoting the College
  • Must be able to attend Harvard College events & House events
  • When attending events in your capacity as a street team member, you would be representing the College and should act appropriately (be sober of mind and act professionally at all times)
  • Participation requires a commitment of 1-2 hours each week to ensure active engagement in social media posts
  • Must be available on some evenings and weekends, as necessary–allowing for flexibility of timing for posting and managing social media content
  • Preferred experience with social media channels and management tools for business/organizational promotion
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A self-starter
  • Comfortable working independently, as well as with a team
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong interest in representing Harvard College to help document the student experience
  • Use only appropriate language, be truthful and accurate in posts
  • Immediately correct inaccurate or misleading posts

• Am I required to sign a contract with the Office of Communications?

  Every Crimson Creator is required to sign a confidentiality contract with our office. Those unwilling to sign one cannot work with our office.
