Hi! My name is Marilynn Miguel, and I’m a first-year student living in Thayer House and hoping to concentrate in Sociology or Government. I proudly identify as a low-income, first-generation student. My parents immigrated here from Mexico to provide me with wonderful opportunities, and I’ve stayed in touch with my roots through social activism. On campus, I’m involved in Primus’ Professional Development Committee and Project Teach, and I help organize the East Coast Chicanx Student Forum for Harvard-Radcliffe RAZA. I’m originally from rural Vineland, New Jersey, so I’ve been spending much of my free time exploring everything the surrounding cities here have to offer. I’ve enjoyed the freedom of being able to take the subway anywhere in Boston -- like exploring East Boston for the best Hispanic food and shopping at Haymarket for that farmer’s market feel. There’s no other place I’m happier to call home than Cambridge! Feel free to reach out to me with any questions!
