Another school year complete also entails another year of delivering food during the late-night study sessions, going out to eat with friends, and trying different dishes while exploring the Greater Boston area. I will be listing six food spots that serve halal dishes not too far from Harvard’s campus. You can also discover six more halal food options in another one of my blogs here.

  1. Fiya Chicken

Are you craving Korean fried chicken? Lucky for you Fiya Chicken serves it in addition to Korean corn dogs, french fries, and of course their freshly made lemonade. There is an assortment of flavors ranging from honey garlic and spicy Korean to soy garlic and FIYA style.

  1. Shah’s Halal Food

Shah’s Halal Food is the perfect place to go for the late-night energy to keep you going. There are numerous options including gyros, platters, and sandwiches of which there are chicken, lamb, kofte kebab, fish, and falafel options.

  1. Ashur Restaurant

If you ever find yourself in the Roxbury area definitely stop by Ashur Restaurant. This was a great introduction to Somali cuisine such as their boneless lamb dish. They also serve sambusa, biryani, and spaghetti. One thing I will never fail to get is their Somali shaah. The tea brings instant comfort through its spiced aroma and taste.

  1. Bab Al-Yemen
Food from Baab al-Yemen

Baab al-Yemen is the perfect place for large group settings where they serve rich and flavor Yemeni dishes. Their fahsah and lamb mandhi are my personal favorites. After eating their generous portions of tender meat, you can never go wrong with Yemeni tea. This place definitely welcomes a sense of community and gathering.

  1. Sufra Mediterranean Food

This is definitely one of my go-to spots. Their chicken zinger wraps never fail to fill me up and many of the events at Harvard that I attended this past year catered from them. They also have Shawarma, Manousheh, and steak sandwiches. There are the Thursday to Saturday specials to look forward to where they serve Mulukhiyah, Chicken & Rice on Thursdays, Mansaf & Rice on Fridays, and Kabsa & Chicken on Saturdays.

  1. Crispy Dough Pizzeria

This place has one of the best buffalo chicken pizza slices yet. There are so many options to choose from including crispy honey, meat lovers, and five-cheese pizza. In addition to pizza, they also serve chicken wings, calzones, subs, salads, and more! This is another great late-night food spot to try out.

I hope this food list gave you a glimpse of some of the halal options in the area. Again, you can find more halal options here and you can also check out my blogs on brunch, lunch/ dinner places, and dessert!
