Hi! My name is Samia Afrose. I am a rising sophomore at the College, and I will be living in Lowell House (best House) for the next three years here. I am originally from East Boston, but I lived in Cambridge. MA for most of my life. My parents are immigrants from Chittagong, Bangladesh. I am currently planning on concentrating in Government with a secondary in sociology and possibly a language citation in Arabic. On-campus, I have found my community within the Harvard Islamic Society and BASHA where I am able to immerse myself in my religion and culture through knowledge, socials, food, attire, and events. I am also the Advocacy, Health, and Housing officer at PBHA where I work to raise awareness about housing in the Boston/Cambridge area. I am elated to be a part of UMRP this summer! Feel free to reach out to ask any questions you may have.
